Universitas Brawijaya (UB) continues to enhance its position as a World Class University through various academic initiatives. One of its flagship programs is the Visiting Lecturer Program (VLP) 2025, part of UB IMPACT (International Mobility Program for Academic Collaboration & Teaching). This program aims to improve academic quality, research, and expand UB’s global academic network through collaboration with international scholars.

Program Objectives

VLP 2025 is designed to:

  1. Enhance academic and research quality at UB through collaboration with international scholars.
  2. Facilitate knowledge and innovation exchange, providing UB’s academic community with global perspectives.
  3. Increase the number and quality of publications in reputable international journals.
  4. Strengthen UB’s academic network at national and international levels.

Program Implementation

This program invites distinguished scholars from around the world as Visiting Lecturers to:

  1. Deliver online lectures in the form of seminars or workshops according to their expertise.
  2. Conduct joint publications with UB lecturers in reputable international journals (minimum Scopus SJR Q4).

Requirements and Eligibility

1. Applicant/Host

  • Must be an active UB lecturer/researcher with the dean’s approval.
  • Proposals must be submitted through faculties/graduate schools/PSDKU.
  • Applicants can submit more than one proposal with different Visiting Lecturers.

2. Visiting Lecturer Requirements

  • Must be affiliated with a foreign university (non-Indonesia/diaspora).
  • Must have a proven academic or research track record.
  • Must deliver one online lecture session (100 minutes).
  • Must participate in joint publications with UB lecturers in reputable journals (minimum Scopus SJR Q4).

Program Deliverables

  1. One online lecture session (100 minutes).
  2. Joint publication between the Visiting Lecturer and UB lecturer.
  3. Completion of UB’s academic reputation survey for international ranking purposes.
  4. Final report submission by the host lecturer.

Funding and Incentives

UB provides an incentive of IDR 25,000,000 per program, covering taxes and publication fees (APC). The incentive scheme depends on the roles of the Visiting Lecturer and UB lecturer in the publication:

  • Scheme A: Visiting Lecturer as First and Corresponding Author (80% incentive).
  • Scheme B: UB Lecturer as First and Corresponding Author (80% incentive).
  • Scheme C: Both as co-authors (60% incentive for the Visiting Lecturer, 40% for the UB Lecturer).

Proposal Submission and Program Implementation

1. Proposal Submission

  • Proposals must be submitted with the dean’s approval and verified by UB.
  • Approved applicants will receive funding after the Rector’s Decree is issued and contracts are signed.

2. Program Implementation

  • Online lectures and joint publications must follow the program timeline.
  • Evaluation is conducted through progress reports and final reports.
  • Incentives will be disbursed once the publication is accepted and the final report is submitted.

Program Timeline

This program is divided into four batches, allowing flexibility for applicants to participate according to their preferred timeline. Each batch follows a structured schedule, from registration to the completion of activities. The timeline for each batch is as follows:

  • Batch 1: January 23 – June 20, 2025
  • Batch 2: February 28 – June 20, 2025
  • Batch 3: June 10 – November 24, 2025
  • Batch 4: July 4 – November 24, 2025
